Slack alerts

Send incident and recovery alerts to Slack using an incoming webhook URL.

Core
  • Requires Admin or higher

Outcome

A Slack channel receives confirmed incident and recovery alerts.

How Fajita connects to Slack

Fajita uses a Slack incoming webhook URL. You create the webhook in Slack, choose the channel there, and paste the URL into Fajita.

Steps

  1. Create an incoming webhook in Slack

In Slack, add an incoming webhook and select the channel that should receive alerts. Slack gives you a URL that starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.

  2. Add the channel in Fajita

In Integrations, add a Slack channel and paste the webhook URL.

  3. Send a test

Send a test alert and confirm it appears in Slack.

  4. Route to it

Create a routing rule so incidents reach the channel. See Routing rules.

Replace or remove

To point at a different channel, create a new webhook in Slack and replace the stored URL. Removing the channel stops delivery.
